Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I returned to Seoul from a short holiday trip home for winter break. I live in Illinois, but very close to St. Louis, Missouri. So from St. Louis to Seattle, and the Seattle to Seoul, I travelled about 6,926 miles this week!

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I've been fortunate enough not only to go home for the holidays, but also to visit Busan, South Korea's second largest city; Jeju Island off the southern coast of South Korea; and Tokyo, Japan while I've been here studying. Overall I have travelled over 23,000 miles since beginning my journey to South Korea!

How did I get around this week?:

Getting around Seoul is incredibly easy because they have a great public transportation system. There are many shops and restaraunts close to me, so most days I walk wherever I need to go. If I need to go somewhere a little farther away, I use the subway or the buses. When I went to Busan, I got to take a high speed train!

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I visited this week was the COEX Aquarium. I love going to aquariums and there are several in Seoul. I heard the COEX Aquarium was the best, and it was definitely a lot of fun. They have a section that shows all the fish that are native to Korea and, of course, all the other cool fish from all around the world.
