The United States has 50 states. Each state has its own characteristics. Texas is one of the biggest states. I had never been to Texas before I started my job. I thought that Texas did not have diverse cultures and that everyone lived in rural areas. I thought that racism was everywhere and people would not be kind to me. My experience could not have been further from the truth.

Texas is one of the most interesting states in the United States. When people think of Texas, they usually think of big fields, lots of cattle, and rural areas. There are lots of rural areas and big fields in Texas. However, there are also some of America’s fastest growing cities.Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio are some of Texas’s fastest growing cities. In Houston alone, there are 146 different languages spoken. In Houston, people speak Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Arabic, Vietnamese, Persian, Indonesian, and many other languages. After English, Spanish is the most widely spoken language. When I visited Houston, I saw buildings and neighborhoods that reminded me of Chicago, where I grew up. Chicago is the third largest city in the United States and Houston is the fourth largest. I visited a Palestinian festival in Houston; Palestine is a disputed area in the Middle East. They do not have the ability to live in their homeland.
