Once all the sheep are rounded up, they take them to the "lowlands" on the farm to shear them, or give them a haircut, give them medicine and to help the ewes give birth to lambs.
The sheep run around the mountain, which is good for their bodies. They graze, or eat the mountain grasses, which provides great nutrition. The farmer we talked to said it is healthier for them than the lowland grass.
In Ireland, sheep don't have many predators. This is why they can live on the mountains with little issue. Hundreds of years ago, Ireland had wolves that would hunt sheep but now, farmers don't have to worry about that.
