I went on a special trip to Brussels for a big meeting called a conference. There were about 50 young scholars (people who are studying as adults) and many amazing speakers from places like the United States and Europe. The conference was about the “Future of Skills and Leadership,” which means how people can learn new things and become great leaders in the future. We sat together, listened and shared ideas. I met new friends from all over the world, like Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Germany and many places in the United States. We talked about our jobs, what we like to learn and our hopes and dreams for the future.
When the conference was done for the day, I went exploring around Brussels. The city was so beautiful, with big buildings and cozy streets. One of my favorite things was seeing funny ducks that were very pale in color. They were so talkative, quacking a lot like they were having their own little conversations! They came up to me and quacked at me, too.
I also tried to notice all the little things in the city, like the sounds, the people and the way everything looked different from home. It made me feel like I was on a big adventure.
