Hi, Classroom! While I am approaching the halfway point of my service here in Peru, our journey with Reach the World is unfortunately coming to an end. It has truly been a joy to share this experience with you—living, working, and even doing the everyday, ordinary things in a new place.
Even though I’m not leaving Peru just yet, I’ve already started thinking about how much I’ll miss sharing these moments with you. I’ve loved writing about my daily life, from early mornings on the farm to working in my community and all the small experiences in between. Being able to reflect on these moments and share them with you has made them even more meaningful.
I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be here as a Peace Corps volunteer. Through my work in water, sanitation, and hygiene, I’ve been able to learn from my community while also contributing in small ways. But just as important as the work are the relationships I’ve built and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that there is not just one “right” way to live. People around the world live in many different ways, shaped by their culture, environment and values. Living here has helped me understand and appreciate those differences more deeply.
