Hello! My name is Avery Vance. I grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri, but now I go to school one state over at the University of Kansas. I am in my third year of college, and I study human biology and Spanish. After I graduate, I want to continue learning in order to become a doctor. When I’m not studying, I love exploring outside and being active, especially through running and playing sports. I ran my first marathon last spring and love being involved with the running club at my university! I also enjoy experimenting with new recipes and sharing my cooking with my friends. This semester, I will be studying abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica!
I am looking forward to seeing lots of amazing nature, especially interesting animals like sloths and monkeys. I will also have lots of time to practice speaking Spanish so that I can improve my communication skills in another language. I’m excited to meet new people, eat a lot of Costa Rican food, and experience being a student in a different country! I can’t wait to share my experiences and hope you enjoy learning alongside me!
