Dear Friends,
I am sad to say that this will be my last entry to Reach the World. Oh, how these two months flew by! From the castle in Vianden to Bonfire Night in Edinburgh, I have gotten to see so much of how the European world and schools work. Thank you for coming along with me on this journey!
My last trip was to Madrid, Spain. Madrid is the capital of Spain, right in the middle of that country. The first night we got Taco Bell. I thought it was interesting to see that they have some of the same chain restaurants that we have in the U.S. They also have Burger King, for example.
Then, on Friday, we took a bus to Toledo. Toledo is a city about an hour south of Madrid. They have beautiful buildings and towns. They are also famous for their Marzipan creations. Marzipan is made of almonds and sugar. The ones I saw were made to look like little fruits!
Finally, on Saturday, I got to see my friends who teach in Spain! They said that they teach English to Spanish-speaking kids from ages 4-12 every day. My friend Abby took us around to show us the Madrid royal palace, which is huge! In Spain, they have a king and a queen and two princesses, Leonore and Sofia.
On Sunday, I flew back to Luxembourg.
