Bonjour (Hello)! My name is Jonathan Bass, and exactly five years ago, I was sitting in the same classroom (maybe even at the same desk) as you! I spent most of my life until my senior year of high school on Washington Island. Mrs. Nehlsen, Mrs. Briesmeister and Mrs. Johnson were some of my teachers – I remember spending a few days on Rock Island junior year with Mrs. Nehlsen’s British Literature class, during our unit on Beowulf, as well as spending many hours on my Hamlet analysis paper. I played soccer during the summer, basketball in the winter, ran cross country during the fall and served on the student council as president in my junior year. I particularly miss going to high school breakfast every Wednesday morning at Trinity Church, one of the most delicious meals of the week.

When I was three, I started taking piano lessons, and gradually, as I got older, I became more serious about piano. At some point during the beginning of high school, after years of lessons and several summers of music camp, I decided that I wanted to eventually have a career in piano.
