Our three months of blogging and video calling have flown by so quickly! As I experience going to Indonesia, where my family is from, for the very first time, I am so happy to have taken you all with me on this journey.
I have a little less than two months left teaching English in Padang, Indonesia as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (E.T.A.). The Fulbright program is a cultural exchange program between the United States of America and many countries in the world. The Fulbright program lets Americans go to other countries to teach English or do research, and vice versa! Through my articles and video calls with Reach the World, I get to share Indonesian traditions, food and nature with you all. As an E.T.A., my job is to share those same things about America!
Now that you've gotten to know Indonesia, I hope you all want to learn more about different parts of the world. There are so many amazing people to get to know, beautiful places to see and meaningful traditions with which to engage. One day, you can be a traveler too! As I approach the last few weeks of the grant, I will do my best to live in the moment and say "Yes!" to everything with a smile. I encourage you to do the same!
Thank you so much for everything, or as we say in Indonesian, terima kasih banyak!
