Traveler Bio

¡Hola chiquilines! My name is Ashley (but my friends call me Ash). I grew up in Mexico, but thanks to some generous scholarships I am able to attend college in the US. I'm studying Architecture and Environmental Studies at Wellesley College in Massachussetts.

My dream is to build houses that make both people and our planet happy. To work towards this dream, I have to learn from a lot of different perspectives. I chose to study in Uruguay because this small country has been doing a lot of progress in taking care of nature and their citizens. Also, their architecture is just as diverse as their people: in every street all the buildings are beautiful, but look nothing alike.

Honestly, Montevideo (Uruguay's capital) continues to surprise me the more time I spend here. Did you know that half of the population of Uruguay lives in Montevideo? I would love for you to join me in discovering all the wonderful things this country and its people have to offer. I hope this virtual exchange can enocourage you to dream big, grow your curiosity and talk to people who are very different from you, which is the best part of travelling.
