Hi friends! ¡Hola amigos! My name is Ashley, and I am so excited to be your Reach the World traveler! I grew up in Austin, Texas, and I went to Steiner Ranch Elementary, just like you! I was a stallion from 2009 to 2014. This May, I graduated from the University of Texas. Hook 'em horns! I loved watching football games and exploring the campus libraries.
After I graduated, I moved to a town called Ibagué, Colombia. That is where I am writing to you from right now. I am in Colombia because of a man named William Fulbright. A long time ago, William created a program named “Fulbright,” like his last name. He wanted people from the United States to make friends with people in other countries – and there are many countries in the world, almost 200! With the Fulbright program, people can move to different countries to learn about different ways of life. That is why I am in Colombia.
Colombia is a country in South America, and its neighbors are Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil. Throughout our time together, I will share more about Colombia and what life is like here.
In my free time, I like reading books, swimming in the ocean, running, and playing card games with my family and friends. But most of all, I love cuddling with my dog, Sandy!
I am here to answer any questions you may have. I am so excited to meet you!
