Erasing a Language Barrier: English Education

Why does the community have this need?:

The community has this need because many Vietnamese people are seeking higher education abroad. People also want to find jobs in business. Over the last few years, Vietnam has put an emphasis on English education because they want a bilingual population. With Vietnam's population almost 100 million and growing, many people will start looking for a job or seeking higher education, and many people are looking abroad such as to Malaysia and South Korea for school and work. English will help Vietnamese people going abroad connect with international communities as well as secure higher-paying jobs back at home. The same could be said about where I am from. Knowing more than one language is an advantage in work and school. Is knowing more than one language a good thing where you're from?

Is this need being met? How?:

This need is being met through schools like the Sun School that focuses on English education. The Sun School works with an organization known as Coins for Change, which is a Vietnamese organization dedicated to providing education and job opportunities to women and their children throughout Vietnam. With organizations like Coins for Change, many communities are gaining schools, teachers and resources for English education.
