Easter in the Country

Their beliefs are integrated into their everyday life. Every family prays before they have a meal. When passing by one of the many churches within the city, citizens will stop and do a cross over themselves. Throughout history, Georgia has been through many wars against Russia. But one thing that always kept them strong was their faith.

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

The reason Georgians pray for hours at night is because in earlier centuries, people had to travel for hours to reach their nearest church. Most churches were located in the mountains and away from towns, so it wasn't easy for people to arrive at church early. Priests would hold prayer for hours until everyone had arrived and could join together in prayer. Even though it is easier to travel to church now, they still pray for hours to respect their ancestors.
