Tiroler Gröstl at Blücher in Munich

Introduction:

My name is Anton Chung Frantisak, and I am excited to bring you all along to a restaurant in Munich (München), Germany. The restaurant we are traveling to is called Blücher, and it is conveniently located right next to my house, which is located in a student residence area—or Studentendorf (literally translated as student village).

First, we'll have to walk through a few of the alleys that have student residences in them, called bungalows (See Photo 1). The place I live in is named Olydorf (Oly for Olympia/Olympics; Dorf again for village) because it was the former housing for the athletes of the 1972 Olympics (See Photo 2). So, it is also located next to the former 1972 Olympic complex, where parts of the games were held.

Each bungalow is a small cubicle with two floors, a kitchen, and a balcony—quite comfortable accommodation (See Photo 3). Although the original bungalows were concrete grey, the residents in Olydorf can apply to paint their housing with designs of their own choosing, which produces an environment that is very unique in its diversity and color (See Photos 4, 5, and 6).

Now, after traversing Olydorf, we've arrived at the restaurant, Blücher (See Photos 7, 8). It serves traditional south German/Bavarian-style food and is relatively price-efficient, especially in comparison to the rest of München.
