Traveler Bio

Hi! My name is Anne Brown, but you can call me Annie. I am 22 years old and I'm from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In Milwaukee, I love visiting our local movie theaters and concert venues, as well as swimming in large Lake Michigan. I graduated last year from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where I spent my days studying philosophy and reading lots of books. For my senior thesis, I researched the lives and work of famous Irish poets from the point of view of their experiences as kids! Now, I'm putting that interest in reading, writing, and education to use as a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) in Senegal, where I teach and support students who are learning English for the very first time. Currently, I live in Thiès, Senegal, where I work with adult students, most of whom are returning to the classroom for the first time to develop their knowledge of the English language. I am excited to share my adventures with you all and cannot wait to hear about your journeys through the school year!
