I have been in Korea for about a month now and I've been settling in nicely. I'm currently living in the dorm provided by Korea University. When I first moved into this room, my roommate and I made a trip to Daiso, a popular home goods store here. Daiso is sort of like Walmart. We bought essentials for the room there and split the cost.

I started my classes this week, and they have been going great so far. I've made friends from all around the world! Most of my classes are at 9:30 a.m., so I have to wake up early to get there on time. In the morning I pass by the convenience store and buy kimbap and tea for breakfast. Kimbap looks a lot like sushi. Kimbap is made by rolling up rice and fillings in seaweed sheets. The rolls are cut into bite sized pieces, and they are very delicous!

Since my classes are early in the day, I have a lot of time left afterwards to explore. After class, I always grab lunch at one of the surrounding restaurants. The ahjumas (older Korean ladies) always welcome me into their restaurants and encourage me to speak in Korean. I've been learning about the Korean language from them. In Korea it's uncommon to eat alone, so they are always asking me to bring a friend.
