A Day in the Life

My day typically starts at 6:15 AM, but I don't immediately jump out of bed. It takes me a few minutes to fully wake up, so I rest for a bit before starting. Depending on the day, I either get dressed and make breakfast or get ready to hit the gym. I switched to morning workouts instead of evenings this semester, and it's been a game-changer. I feel way more energized when I go to teach!

I've been consistently going for three weeks since returning from the winter holidays, but my fitness journey started last summer. Seeing my steady progress and looking back at where I began versus where I am now has been motivating. I'm still far from my ultimate goals, but the habit of going regularly has stuck, which I struggled with back in college. Sometimes, it's wild to think I now go five days a week when before, even twice a week felt impossible!

After the gym, I come home and make a big breakfast; it is my favorite (and usually biggest) meal of the day. I usually have scrambled eggs with sausage, plus a bowl of Greek yogurt with granola and fruit. Recently, I found smoked salmon slices at my local grocery store, and now I love adding them to my avocado toast. Breakfast is a key part of my reward system after the gym and helps me feel ready to take on the day.
