It’s hard to believe that my time in London is already coming to an end. It feels like yesterday that I got here! When I first arrived, jet-lagged and dragging my suitcase through Heathrow with Lily and Meli, I remember feeling uncertain about being away from home and living in a foreign country. I wondered whether I would be okay and adjust to life in this new place for four months.
At some point between my first rainy walk across the Thames, my first successful navigation of the underground train, called the Tube, and all the weekend adventures that followed, the city became a part of my normal life. I met a group of Americans who were also studying abroad, and we became a close group of friends. I'm so grateful to have had this group of friends with whom I could share new experiences. We tried new food spots, took Tube rides and visited all the classic sights such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and Notting Hill. Over time, I learned how to navigate the city and make it feel just like home.
I've also been really lucky to travel to other cities and countries during my time here. In fact, I've done more travel in four months than I've done in my whole life.
