I like to use special types of computer software that are part of a science within the field of geographical information systems, which is called GIS for short. Another way of explaining this is that I like to examine a lot of information to see if there are connections or differences between various things that are happening in the world. For example, I can use this "interconnected" way of thinking and viewing the world as I study the climate change around me here in Samoa. Flooding is a big problem in Samoa caused by global warming. I can see how it affects people in this country on an economic, social and environmental level. During my semester abroad, I have been learning about climate change and also seeing firsthand how Samoa is changing with the planet. I am very grateful that I have this opportunity to study in Samoa. I have made many friends so far during my journey and I have been captivated by the natural beauty of the island. I can't wait to find out what is next for me here!
