Traveler Bio

Hallo zusammen! (Hello everyone!) My name is Alyssa, and I am a researcher and teacher from California. Growing up in the western United States, I was surrounded by wide-open spaces and many different communities, which made me curious about how people live, learn, and solve problems around the world. That curiosity led me to study public health and statistics, where I use data to help answer questions that affect everyday life.

I am now living in Germany as a Fulbright grantee, based in Munich. Here, I am conducting research, working with local scientists, and learning German while experiencing daily life in a new country. I am learning not only in classrooms and offices, but also through conversations, travel, and everyday routines like shopping, commuting, and exploring my neighborhood.

Through this program, I am growing both personally and professionally. I am excited to share my discoveries, challenges, and adventures in Germany, and I hope to encourage others to stay curious, keep learning, and be open to new experiences.

Want to learn how you could be a Fulbright student like me? The Fulbright Program is the United States government's flagship international exchange program. Fulbrighters foster mutual understanding between the United States and partner nations, share knowledge across communities, and improve lives around the world. Learn more by clicking here!
