This week I got to re-visit one of my favorite memorials in Germany: the "Völkerschlachtdenkmal," or the "Monument to the Battle of the Nations." It was built in 1813 to commemorate one of Napoleon's battles in Leipzig.
Due to the icy and snowy conditions throughout northern Germany, a lot of the trains have been delayed and cancelled this week. I have been lucky enough to avoid any major problems, but if the train on the island does get affected, I'll be confined to neighboring towns.
