I told her I’m not sure that counts as real food!
All the students speak Chinese at school; that’s the language their classes are in. In Chinese, “Hello” is "Ni hao" (你好; pronounced nee - how). It literally means "You good." Sherry says she also speaks Taiwanese at school and Sophia pointed out that, of course, we speak English in English class. Also, Zoey and Selena are indigenous Paiwan. While they don’t use the Paiwan language at school, they both speak it at home. They taught me a way to say hello: “bulay bulay sun” (pronounced boo - lie - boo - lie - soon)!
All the kids gave the same answer for this one: Kě xīn (可心; pronounced kuh - sheen). I agree, I have a lot of girls with this name in my classes. Luca and Sophia also said Kě yún (可云; pronounced kuh - yoon) is very popular. Fun fact: it’s actually Sophia’s name!
All the students primarily study Chinese, math, science, English and social studies. They also have health, PE, swimming, music and computer classes. Music is Lydia’s favorite class and computer class is Gaby’s. Zoey likes social studies and Luca says he likes them all.
