This week has been hotter than average with troublingly little rain. In fact, we have not had regular access to water these days and resort to pulling water from the tank on our house’s roof. I sometimes have to take a shower with a bucket, but I have normalized this aspect of life here and it doesn’t bother me too much.
Amazingly, Sasaima is home to two sloths that live right in the town’s center. While they are not native to the area, they have become part of the town’s identity. I am still awed every time I see them, which is actually quite often. The area also receives some tourism for bird-watching.
