Are you ready to journey into the unknown? What will we see, hear, touch, taste and experience? Any place and activity can be made into an adventure, and right now we are in London, England. My name is Alexia and I will be your tour guide for this virtual exchange. I have traveled across land and sea from Adrian, Michigan to show you the world and what it holds.
I grew up with a challenging set of circumstances. My siblings and I were raised by my mom. There were many challenges along the way, but because I worked hard and took advantage of the opportunities given to me, I am now going to Siena Heights University in Michigan. I never thought I would be able to study abroad or even go to college. I applied for and received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which has helped me make this study abroad opportunity possible!
Currently, I have a major in global studies and a double minor in social work and political science. In short, this means I love studying the world around me, including people and the systems that make the world go around. Helping people and being positive are my number one goals in life. I live by the motto "Choose to shine" and I hope to influence people to be the leaders they can be!
