This week, my friends and I held an annual performance at a U.S.-sponsored American Culture Center named "Indonesia Through Their Eyes." Since my friends and I have lived in Indonesia for five months now, we have all experienced the interesting and quirky differences between Indonesian and American culture. At the palace mall, e put on a performance to a crowd of people, as well as to online viewers watching livestream, using our dancing and singing to show these differences through the eyes of young Americans integrating into Indonesian culture. We felt humbled and energized by the crowd of people who came to see us showcase our talents. Truth be told, we were initially expecting only to present our experiences to the English Indonesian teachers that we invited to Indoneisa. Little did we know that we were going to find ourselves in the premiere event at a popular mall at the end of the week!
