Iranians in Vienna Celebrate Death of Ali Khamenei

Many people in the United States were strongly critical of the bombing, while the march I had witnessed showed a very different perspective among members of the Iranian population in Vienna. Experiencing those contrasting reactions so directly was eye-opening to me. It reminded me how dramatically people’s views on major political events can differ depending on their backgrounds, experiences, and where they are in the world. The experience reinforced for me the importance of listening to multiple perspectives before forming my own opinion about complex global events.
