I live in a beautiful city in the south of Ecuador called Cuenca, and I work with a city organization on projects focused on mental health, nutrition and environmental awareness, among other topics.
When I was in middle school, if you had asked me whether I could ever imagine being where I am today, I would have said “No way!” Because although I always loved adventure and traveling, the thought of leaving my family to go and live so far away, for two years, without knowing anybody would’ve been a deal breaker. Even a year and a half ago, when I was packing my bags to move here, I was feeling unsure about my decision. But someone gave me a great piece of advice that has stuck with me throughout this whole, crazy journey: Do it scared. Because once you overcome that fear, you give yourself the chance to learn, grow and form incredible relationships and memories.
And I can’t wait to share some of my incredible experiences here in Ecuador with all of you!
