¡Hasta pronto!

Your site is where you get placed to live and work; this means Zamora for me. I am currently 15 months in, so a little under a year left. Some days this can feel like no time at all and other days it feels like a very long time.

In my remaining time here in Ecuador, I hope to continue strengthening connections in my community while also taking advantage of the opportunities to travel and see as much of the country as I can. I am starting the final trimester of the school year next week and I am moving over to the elementary school to work with the English teachers in that block. I am excited to be surrounded by some little kiddos for the end of the year! The summer starts in July and  I will likely be running an English summer camp for part of it with another volunteer who lives in a nearby town. I also am hoping to take advantage of the time without classes to get over to Peru to go backpacking and see Machu Picchu!

As much excitement the next year brings, it also brings a fair amount of uncertainty. Feelings I would imagine are pretty familiar as you start to think about what the next couple years will bring for you all. For me, this means I am starting to think about where I want to go after Ecuador. There are potential opportunities to stay in Ecuador with the Peace Corps for another year. Or I might be ready to return to midwestern winters and go play in the snow with my friends and family. I am interested in continuing to work with development and/or human rights organizations, so we shall see where that leads. Regardless of what happens, Ecuador will forever have a big part of my heart.
