It has been a beautiful week. We have seen mostly high-pressure days. It is summer here in Antarctica. However, while the sun has been shining very brightly during the day, in the evenings it begins to snow! Here in Antarctica, we have 24 hours of glorious sunlight, which can interrupt sleep patterns. However, I velcro shut my blinds for darkness at night time!
I have seen Adelie penguins, emperor penguins, minke whales, Weddell seals and leopard seals!
The water was so clear underneath that I saw the underside of an iceberg! Did you know that we see only one-fifth of the iceberg above the water!? This means that underneath the water the iceberg is five times bigger than what we see on the surface! Sounds scary?!
