The official language of the Netherlands is Dutch, but the people here tend to speak very many languages. Most people in the country speak English, and many Dutch people know how to speak German, French or Spanish too.
The Netherlands is known for being very international, so there are people from all over the world and who speak hundreds of different languages living here. Because of the multitude of languages, most of the foriegners communicate to each other and to the Dutch people in English.
Euros are used here. The Netherlands is part of the "Euro Zone," which means it shares the same currency as many other different countries in Europ. This makes traveling around outside of the Netherlands really easy because you don't have to change currencies. One euro is about $1.20.
A bottle of water could cost €1.50. However, the Dutch are generally very environmentally concious, so the people here mostly use reusable water bottles.
