On Monday, I traveled all the way back from Wisconsin to Rotterdam. I went home for the weekend to attend my older sister's wedding. I had to fly 8 hours each way but it was worth it to see my sister get married.
Other than my big trip home, I've only traveled on short trips to other cities in the Netherlands. I wanted to explore this country before I started traveling through the rest of Europe.
I usually get around by bike. The Dutch bike everywhere and have infastructure in place so that it's very easy and very safe. There are special lanes for bikes on the roads, special streetlights for bikes at intersections, and tons of places to park your bike. If I'm going somewhere close by though, I prefer to walk.
On wednesday night, I went to a jazz show. Every week, a small venue in the city center hosts local jazz musicians and they play together for hours. I love to sit with my friends and listen to the music.
