Bună, călători! Hello, travellers! My name is Stephanie, and I currently live and teach English in a city called Constanta (pronounced “kon-STAN-tsa”) in southeast Romania. My journey here began back in September and will come to a close at the end of June. Until then, I am excited to share stories about my travels across Romania and Eastern Europe with you!
Before we jump into more details about Constanta, let’s rewind a bit so I can tell you more about myself and how I found my way to Romania. I am 22 years old and I grew up on the west coast of the United States. in San Francisco, California. When I was five years old, I started taking dance classes at a studio in my neighborhood. Since then, I have trained in all sorts of dance styles, including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and contemporary. Dancing is my number one passion-- besides traveling, of course! I love the athleticism of dance, and I also love how it has the power to connect people from different backgrounds and cultures.
When I was 17 years old, I moved from San Francisco to New York City to attend college at New York University (NYU), which was a transformative experience for me.
