This week I traveled from Lanškroun to Hradec Králové and back to visit my friends, which was about 93 miles roundtrip. I also went to Polička to visit the town and have lunch. That was about 50 miles roundtrip. In total, I traveled 143 miles this week!
So far, I have traveled about 5,700 miles by plane and car to get to Lanškroun, Czech Republic, plus 143 miles this week, plus another 200 miles from day trips. That puts me at about 6,043 miles on my journey so far.
I mostly get around by walking or driving. I decided to rent a car in the Czech Republic, even though they do have a great bus and train system that goes all over Europe.
I would have to say that Štarkov Castle was my favorite place to visit by far.
I met one of the other Fulbright teachers in Hradec Králové this week, and she told me that she is working at a glass-making school. Did you know that the Czech Republic is famous for the glassware they produce? I certainly didn't know, but I hope to visit my friend in the future and learn more about this beautiful craft that has made the Czech Republic famous.
