Small clouds edged with burnished gold drifted into the bright beyond...flood[ing] the canvas with golden oranges swimming in their blood-red juice." What a wonderful way to describe a sunset.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I learned how to play a card game called Prší, the Czech word for raining. It is similiar to Crazy Eights or Uno, except the seven means you have to draw two and the ace skips the next person's turn. It was a lot of fun! When you run out of cards, you yell Prší!, which sounds like a little like "preshy!"

Other news from this week:

Czechoslovakia was formed in 1918 after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire, creating an official nation state. Although the Czech Republic and Slovakia split into separate countries in 1993, this October 28th still marks 100 years of Czech culture and identity. In Prague and many other citites, there were celebrations and art installations to honor this special occasion.
