The weather in Ireland was surprisingly mild for January. The days were overcast with occasional sun and only a bit of rain. The weather felt to me like March in my home state of Washington!
I was mostly visiting smaller cities and towns in Ireland, so I didn't see too many animals. I saw many small birds, seagulls, crows and swans. I also caught a view of an otter in the water!
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was that otter! I only saw an otter in the wild for the first time this past spring on a trip I took to California. It was so cool to see the little otter poke his head out of the water and swim around for a bit on his back. Unfortunately, it was dark at that point, so the photo I took of him isn't too good!
