I had nearly perfect weather as I travelled through Italy, with only one day of rain. The rest of the days were at least partially sunny, and the temperatures ranged from around 35 to 58 degrees Fahrenheit. In Switzerland, the weather was a bit colder, as the elevation was much higher. It ranged from about 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and it snowed on one day!
Since I spent most of the week travelling through the big cities of Rome and Florence, I did not encounter too many animals outside of the multitude of tiny dogs and pigeons that line the streets of Italy. One of my favorite dog breeds is the Bernese mountain dog, and I was lucky enough to pass by a couple of them in Rome. As it is winter, there were not too many other animals out and about.
