Unlike many parts of the United States, Costa Rica has two seasons: dry and rainy. We are currently in the rainy season, which lasts from May until about mid-November. This past week, it has been very hot and sunny in the mornings and cool and rainy in the evenings. The temperature here usually stays between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
I normally see different types of dogs on my walk home from school. Some are strays and others belong to people in the community. This week, I saw a really small dog with fluffy white fur. Its owner was nice enough to let us pet and hold the dog.
For my Eco-tourism class, we took a trip to a nearby garden where we saw a ton of cool plants. A lot of the plants there are used to treat certain illnesses such as the flu. The star fruit tree was the coolest thing I saw because I had never seen the fruit in person before. They are a greenish-yellow color and are literally shaped like stars.
