Our News

It is typically served during the holiday season, so I have definitely been getting my fill of it lately!

What music did I listen to this week?:

In Romania, the main music that you overhear being played in businesses is American pop music. But, because of the holiday, I have had the opportunity to hear more traditional Romanian music. There have been a lot of concerts and groups of carolers singing traditional Romanian and American carols to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The beginning of this week was really fun because I was in Bucharest for New Years Day. Bucharest is the capital of Romania, and is a big city located about 200 miles south of Suceava. I was lucky to spend the evening and New Years Day with some friends in Bucharest. We didn't do much, because it was cold and the streets were really crowded with people, but we did see some of the fireworks that they set off above the Palace of the Parliment.

What did I read this week?:

I have been reading a lot of research done on the American University system in order to prepare for a lecture I am giving this week. I also finished a book I had been reading called The Mars Room, by Rachel Kushner.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I didn't play any sports this week. It is too cold and snowy to do much outside. However, to stay active, I have a gym membership and will go exercise there a few times a week. The only problem is I have to walk about a half a mile through the snow in order to get there!
