This week I traveled about 11 miles. That is the distance between my apartment and the lab where I work.
So far I have traveled 4,045 miles along my journey. That is the distance between my home in Pennsylvania and Berlin.
This week I got to and from work using the bus, u-bahn (subway) and s-bahn (above-ground train). Berlin is known for and very proud of their public transport system. Because of this, not very many people own cars. This is very different from where I grew up in Pennsylvania.
The most interesting place I visited this week is called Mauer Park. Mauer Park hosts events on the weekends like flea markets, dancers, karaoke and concerts. There are trails around the park for bike riding and roller skating and another area for dogs to run around. This week there was even a stand selling hot chocolate!
