Getting Around Morocco

A grand taxi can drop off passengers at any point along the route.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

I love taking the tram! I feel very comfortable taking the tram because I always know what to expect. I scan my card, find a place to sit, and then the conductor scans my card to ensure that I paid for the ride. There are many types of people on the tram, and it is nice to have a little chitchat with someone next to you. From the tram, I can see many famous points in the city, and I have often discovered new parks while riding the tram. I always make a mental note to come back to the spot later and check out the park. On the other hand, taking taxis can be more stressful for me. Usually, taxis drivers take you right to your destination, but sometimes it is more difficult to get to where you want to go right away if there is someone else in the taxi. Additionally, while talking with taxi drivers in Arabic or French can be great language practice, sometimes you feel very tired and just want to get to your destination with little conversation. The drivers are often curious of foreign passengers and want to ask lots of questions and practice their English.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Moroccan culture is very hospitable, and taxi drivers and tram conductors are always happy to strike up a conversation with people they just met. In grand taxis, the seats are very small, and there are always lively conversations going on with the people sitting next to each other. Travelers share advice and food, as it is always polite to share your snacks with fellow travelers. The same goes for trains.
