After what has been a very rainy and windy winter (and many nights of hail!), the weather here is finally starting to warm up again. This week, it has been hot enough to walk around with short sleeves and lounge on the rocks by the seaside. Since I live near the sea, it is almost always windy.
Malta has cats EVERYWHERE! Maltese people love cats so much that they actually build houses for them and chain them to benches so that they can't be stolen. There is a cat village by my house that is home to at least 20 different cats where many people go to feed and pet them. Even at the university where I work, there are cats in the library and in many of the staff offices.
This past weekend, I traveled to Gozo which is a sister island to mainland Malta. It was the first time in a while that I've seen grass and trees! There was a cliff near the Airbnb that I was staying at that had the most gorgeous views of the entire island and the water beyond it.
