What activity was the most fun this week?:

My favorite activity this week was visiting a holiday market in Geneva! Each year, just before Christmas, a lot of cities in Switzerland construct little Christmas villages in their parks and squares where people can sell holiday decorations, foods, and gifts. My favorite treat is roasted chestnuts! The town will cover the park in twinkle lights and other Christmas decorations. I went to a market with my best friend and we had the best time. It felt magical!

What did I read this week?:

This week, I have been reading a lot of research for my project. This includes a lot about the history of the country, specifically in the areas of immigration and culture. Like the United States, Switzerland is a country made up of immigrants, who have always been a part of Swiss culture and politics. Another book I'm reading right now is Michelle Obama's new book, Becoming. I am a big fan of U.S. politics and am excited to read all about the former First Lady's life!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

It is too cold to play outside this week in Geneva, but I did go ice skating with some friends. Winter sports are very popular in Switzerland since they have all the mountains and cold weather to support these activities. People like to go skiing, snowboarding, snow-shoeing, and sledding. I am terrible at ice skating, but at least  I did not fall down, and I had a great time with my friends.
