This week was pretty gloomy! It is just getting cold enough to snow, but sometimes it is more like a slushy rain. Switzerland has all four seasons, just like we do in the Northeastern United States. It gets very cold and snowy in the winter, especially in the mountains. In the summer it is nice and warm; you can even swim in Lake Geneva! Even though it is cold right now, it is beautiful to see snow on the mountains, and the city did feel very cozy this week. I have spent most of my time inside, watching the snow from the warm refuge of my apartment.
Since I stayed in the city this week, I did not see too many animals. Sometimes you can see squirrels in the parks, but Geneva does not have too much wildlife. However, around the holiday season, some parks have petting zoos! These zoos usually include sheep, goats and pigs. The kids love to see the animals up close and pet them. Although there are not many animals in the city, there are a lot of cows in Switzerland.
