Hi, everyone! I’m Allyson, and I am so excited to be sharing this journey with you! I am 19 years old and a sophomore at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am studying Biomedical Sciences and Pre-Medicine, and I'm minoring in Chemistry and Spanish. That’s a bunch of fancy words that basically mean I want to be a doctor one day and be really good at speaking in Spanish. Instead staying in school back in Alabama, I decided to study in Spain for a few months this year! While here, I am taking classes on the history and civilizations of Spain and the Spanish language. I get to take a dance class and a cooking class here, too.
I am from a really big family! I have three brothers, Justin, Tyler, and Graham, and two sisters, Kaleigh and Camdyn. Growing up as one of six kids has always been an adventure. There’s never a boring moment at my house! My family loves to explore new places together. Every Christmas, instead of getting presents, we go on a big trip together and make tons of memories.
I grew up in a really small town in Alabama, so living in another country was sort of unheard of. No one around me really cared to travel the world and discover new places, but I had a passion to meet new people who are different than I am and to see what life in another culture is like. This passion led me to Valencia, Spain.
