Valencia is a beautiful city located on the southeastern coast of Spain, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Known for its arts and sciences, the city is full of futuristic planetariums, oceanariums, and museums. And, when it comes to food, Valencian cuisine is second to none. There are tons of open markets with locally grown produce and seafood. Valencia has it all, serving as a bridge from the city to the sea. There are thousand-foot skyscrapers and green-blue waters just breaths apart. I hope to improve my Spanish speaking skills by developing relationships with the locals here and exploring this breath-taking city.
There is a lot of uncertainty and fear around the idea of studying abroad in another country. Leaving the comfort of your town and family to see different people and places is hard, but it is SO WORTH IT! One amazing thing about the world is that we are all different. Putting yourself in a culture unlike your own and making yourself be the one who is different is how you learn to love and value the differences you see.
I am so thankful I get to be a part of your class for a little while and share my stories with you. I hope this journey develops a passion in you to see the world and its people.
