Tacos Everywhere

Introduction:

When Americans think of Mexican food, tacos are probably the first thing that comes to mind. I thought that might be a bit of an exaggeration until I moved here. It turns out, tacos are an even bigger part of Mexican cuisine than I had imagined.

What food did I try?:

I have eaten many kinds of tacos since I have been in Mexico, and I have to say, I have loved all of them so far! From tacos with cuts of meat I have never heard of to seafood tacos on the coast, to fun, Mexican-inspired vegetarian tacos in my neighborhood, I've had a little taste of everything wrapped up in a tortilla. My favorite taco that I've had so far was a taco based on the dish chiles en nogada, or "chilis in walnut sauce".

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I have really enjoyed all of the tacos that I have eaten, especially the chiles en nogada taco. It was delicious. I really miss it now that it is out of season. I'm hoping it will be available again before I leave Mexico.

I found out after eating a taco that it was filled with pig snout! I'm not sure how I feel about that thinking back on it, but I have to admit, it tasted delicious when I didn't know what I was eating. I'm just not sure if I could eat it again.
