Our News

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I enjoyed my hike up Hallasan the most. It was an excursion that took a whole day, but it was worth it for the stunning scenery and the exercise going up. I met lots of friendly fellow hikers eager to practice their English with me and got to see snow at the very top of the active volcano.

What did I read this week?:

I read the story of Seobok, a Chinese diplomat sent by the first emperor Qin Shi Huang to create peaceful relations between China, Korea, and Japan thousands of years ago.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

There was a mahjong set at one of the restaurants I visited here, so while I had lunch I was able to set up a game for myself. Mahjong is usually played with three or four players, and it uses tiles with pictures on them stacked into a pyramid or in a different shape on top of one another. You win the game by matching tiles together and eliminating all the tiles from the board.

Other news from this week:

This week I got to visit a place I have been dreaming for years— Hello Kitty Island! I am a big fan of Sanrio characters, and I have always wanted to go to a themed cafe. As to be expected, it was very cute and pink, and I got to learn a little bit more about the character's history that I might not have before.
