Where's the Water?

Introduction:

Throughout the world, we can find an extraordinary range of environments that make up the different ecosystems giving the conditions for life for plants, animals and people. However, when an environment is not exactly suitable for people to live in, what can we do? This is when critical thinking plays a key role, as people must think of ways to change the environment in a non-harmful way. For Israel, changing how the country uses and recycles water is key to creating a healthy environment.

What makes this environment special or different?:

When people think of Israel, they most often picture cacti scattered across a barren, dry desert. However, this is not the case! There are many different types of environments that make up Israel, which is what makes it so special! Despite the fact that Tel Aviv is an urban city, we are still surrounded by many trees and beautiful beaches. Moving north towards Galilee, the mountains are lush with trees, plants and rich farmland. On the other hand, if we travel near the Dead Sea, we become enclosed by what seems like a never-ending desert. Within these different environments, diverse plants can be found.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

Warm temperatures and sunny days are the usual weather in Israel during the summer.
