How Do We Get There?

Introduction:

While Tel Aviv may be a small city, there are many different places for people to experience. While the destinations in Tel Aviv are important, the journey people take to get to that destination is just as important. Being aware of one's surroundings allows people to understand more about a city's culture and its people.

How do people get around?:

Riding the bus in Tel Aviv is very easy! There are many bus stops that are located around the city. Whether you want to visit the center of Tel Aviv, go to a farther beach or explore the South of Tel Aviv, the bus is a reliable way to get there. Each bus ride costs 5.90 shekels, which is about $1.60. That’s cheaper than a subway ride in New York City! To pay for each bus ride, you have to use a card called the Rav Kav. When you enter the bus, you scan your Rav Kav card and it automatically charges the card. Before getting on the bus, you have to make sure that you have enough money on the Rav Kav card. There are a few different ways that you can add money to the card. You can add money on to the card by adding credit on your phone, by going to a service location or by reloading it at certain stores.

While many people here in Tel Aviv choose to drive to places, either by car or by bus, people also use other ways that are better for the environment. The city of Tel Aviv makes it very easy for people to walk and bike to places.
