Barranquilla has a tropical climate, so it is always hot and humid here. September and October are the only months during which it rains. During these months, there are torrential downpours that leave the streets flooded. In January and February, the weather becomes more breazy, especially at night. I can hear the wind whistle through the house in the evenings. Even though it is March, it is still fairly windy at night.
I always see street dogs and cats everywhere. There is a street dog that always sleeps outside my apartment. The whole neighborhood takes care of this dog, and we often give her food leftovers and plenty of affection. Everyone calls her nena, or "girl".
